Viña Alarba Old Vines Grenache 2006 is very good Spanish wine. We have tried the Viña Alarba red grenache, which was also was very good. For a dollar more, the old vines version is a great value. It offers a richer tasting offering than the younger vine offering.
It paired well with beef tacos. I usually saute in olive oil dried red peppers, later adding some dried chipotle flakes, aleppo and fresh minced garlic. I add the cubed beef that has been sitting in a bowl with a lime based marinade made of fresh lime juice, minced garlic, fresh ground black pepper, sea salt, and some ground guajillo pepper.
For the tacos, we made a avocado and tomatillo sauce. This version was prepared with 5 tomatillos, 3 avocados, fresh garlic, lime juice, sea salt, fresh ground black pepper, and plenty of cilantro. It was finger licking good!
